MEAT FOR THE MANIACS
A new still direct from the set of Tim Sullivan’s 2001 Maniacs has arrived in the Creature Corner’s in-box this morning and it appears this one has surfaced on the IMDB as well.
The Corner has been watching Maniacs closely for a number of reasons: It’s Sullivan’s feature film debut; Robert Englund stars; it’s a fierce, bloody, and wet remake of H.G. Lewis’ 2000 Maniacs; and it’s the first film out of the gate from Boaz Yakin, Scott Spiegel, and Eli Roth’s Raw Nerve Productions.
On the right is the first photo any of us have seen of Maniacs’ victims, er, leading actors and actresses. Exhibiting restrained excitement at the top of the stairs is director Sullivan. On the next step down, from left to right are actors Matt Carey, Jay Gillespie, and Dylan Edrington. Below them, from left to right: Brian Gross, Marla Malcolm, and Gina Marie Heekin. And striking a pose in their fashionable black leather: Mushond Lee and Biancan Smith.
2001 Maniacs, co-produced by V.S.P., is currently in post-production. In an interview here on the Corner, Roth revealed the film is projected to make its debut at the American Film Market in Santa Monica. Keep your eyes peeled to this site for further updates.
