HOUSE OF HORRORS ANTHOLOGY
One of the Horror Asylum’s very own past staff member D.J. Nock got in touch with us over the weekend to spill the beans on his latest project. He has been working hard as the co-writer and co-director on the new version of Dr Terror’s House of Horrors.
In 1964 during the popularity for Hammer Horror a rival company, Amicus, released a series of anthology films. The first anthology was directed by Freddie Francis and was called Dr Terror’s House of Horrors. It starred Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Roy Castle as well as introducing Donald Sutherland to the world stage.
Now forty years later Lastindependent.Com has commissioned five short films that follow the theme of the original segments of Dr Terror’s House of Horrors. This is not a remake – these are all new stories in the original theme to act merely as a template for low-budget film-makers to create new stories.
It will be an independent piece, with different talents working on the project, with shooting beginning in the summer.
For more information, please check-out www.lastindependent.com, where you can read about the latest devlopments. An official site just for the film, will be going up soon.
And we all wish him the best of luck.
Thanks to D.J. Nock
