CAGE AS GHOST RIDER?
Nicolas Cage, who has been attached to (or claimed interest in) every comic book property in Hollywood, told SciFi Wire that the new GHOST RIDER script will be done after the holidays. The comic-book-to-film project, about a fella named Johnny Blaze who gets inhabited by a spawned-from-hell demon that then rides around America doing good deeds (well, sort of), was originally written by David (BLADE) Goyer, before it was switched out for a more mainstream (read: PG-13 instead of R) version.
Cage says he digs on GHOST RIDER because, ‘I always thought it was interesting, the concept of a character who’s in the dilemma of making a deal with a negative force and then trying to do something positive with it.’ Columbia wants another SPIDER-MAN-esque franchise, so look for a lot of money to be poured on this one.
