SAVAGE ISLAND DIRECTORS PROJECTS
With his award-winning feature debut, the rural horror film SAVAGE ISLAND, closing in on its VHS/special-edition DVD release April 27 from Ardustry Home Entertainment, director Jeffery Lando took a few minutes to update FANGORIA on his follow-up movies. Kevin [Mosley, SAVAGEs scriptwriter] and I are in development on two other projects, Lando reveals. The next one it looks like were going to make is called SITTERS NIGHT, and were tentatively going into production in late spring. It promises to be a very gory maniac-in-a-mask movie with lots of killing; its about a pretty babysitter in a farmhouse with a sleepwalking 8-year-old, her drunken friends coming to visit her from a house party and Tom, an escaped and extremely vicious mental patient who likes to torment his victims with macabre puppet shows. Therell be lots of blood and pretty young people in this one.
The other picture is called THE HAUNTING OF LAURA RHODES, Lando continues, and its about a housewife tortured by intense waking dreams and guided toward the resolution of a mystery by the ghost of a young boy. Its more sophisticated, and will be more of a star vehicle than SITTERS NIGHT. If the results are as intense as Lando and Mosleys first feature, we cant wait.
