CINEMATHEQUE’S TRIER CAREER
It’s very rare that the Corner get this excited for something coming to ABC, but everything seen points to signs that Stephen King’s adaptation of Lars Von Trier’s The Kingdom, craftily retitled to Kingdom Hospital for the Americans, is going to be worth the wait.
Although it’s arguable it ties in with the completion of his latest film, Dogville, the American Cinematheque’s upcoming retrospective on Von Trier’s career couldn’t come at a better time for the U.S., Los Angeles to be specific. Along with screenings of Dogville, Dancer In The Dark, The Idiots, and the experimental D-Day, the Cinematheque will be showing all 16 hours of Von Trier’s Riget (The Kingdom) and Riget II on March 27th and 28th, respectively.
More info on the retrospective can be found at the Cinematheque’s official site, and if you’re going to be in L.A. for the entire thing it’s worth your time to check out the rest of what Von Trier’s had to offer the film world.
