PET SEMATARY REMADE?!
With pretty much all the classic 70s horror films going through the remake process lately (and nobody better touch HALLOWEEN!), now studios are raiding the popular horror titles of the 80s. Variety reports that Paramount and Alphaville are unearthing PET SEMATARY for a new film version, with the FACE/OFF team of Mike Werb and Michael Colleary set to script. The previous 1989 screen adaptation, starring Denise Crosby and Dale Midkiff as a young couple who discover the horrible secrets of a pet cemetery and Indian burial ground behind their new home, was one of the most successful King-based horror films ever at the box office, and was followed by a not-nearly-as-popular 1992 sequel (both were directed by Mary Lambert). A director for the new PET has yet to be signed.
