SCOOBY DOO 3 RE-CASTING?
Scooby Doo 2 director Raja Gosnell commented on rumours that Sarah Michelle Gellar wants out of the franchise to CHUD.
Q: She hasnt signed for the third film did you get a sense she ready to move on?
Raja: That was in the air. I think those conversations went more with the producers than with myself. They generally try and shield me from those things and for what I do know I certainly wouldnt bring to an on set relationship with actors that Im work with, so we never really discussed it honestly. Its best to work just in the moment of what youre doing, and if theres something thats boiling up that needs to be said, then go back to the trailer and you have it out, thats the best thing. But I try and let the trades and the rumors and the agents and managers, my job at that moment where theres a camera getting ready to role is to give the actress or the actor as prepared for the shot as I can. Nothing else matters at that point.
One person that does look likely to return for a Scooby 3 though is Seth Green.
Q: Did you sign for a sequel for this show because your character could certainly.
Seth: Yeah, it could well have to see. Who knows? My opinion about sequels is always the same if theres a good script and a natural place for me to be in it, then Id do it. I love siting this example: I always want to be Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon 2 as opposed to Joe Pesci in 3. He was great in 2, he made total sense in 2. And then theres 3 and youre selling real estate huh? It just didnt work. Its no fault of the actor. They throw a ton of money at ya and its hard to say no, I dont want to do that. For me its got to make sense or else I cant come and sit in these rooms and explain to you guys why I did it. Id feel like an idiot.
