Read on for this interesting story.
According to Variety The Firm has sued actress Milla Jovovich for allegedly failing to pay a 10% commission on her $5 million in gross earnings from the upcoming film ‘Resident Evil: Apocalypse.’
In a complaint filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, the Firm said it had an oral management agreement with Jovovich that lasted from November 1999 until August 2002.
According to the complaint, the Firm could commission all of Jovovich’s entertainment projects that were ‘substantially negotiated’ while the agreement was in effect. Jovovich allegedly negotiated her deal for the ‘Resident Evil’ sequel before she terminated her relationship with the Firm. The actress is managed by Industry Entertainment.
The suit seeks damages, an accounting and a declaration that it is entitled to the commission.
Screen Gems is slated to release ‘Resident Evil: Apocalypse’ Sept. 10.
