ZWICK TAKES UP TALISMAN
Variety reports that Edward Zwick is in talks with DreamWorks to take the helm of THE TALISMAN, the adaptation of Stephen King and Peter Straubs novel that Steven Spielberg will executive-produce. Zwick will replace Vadim (HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG) Perelman, who exited the directors chair last week. This would be the first horror project for Zwick, who most recently had the Tom Cruise action drama THE LAST SAMURAI in theaters, though he did helm 1983s chilling SPECIAL BULLETIN, a 1983 TV movie presented as a series of newscasts about a nuclear terrorism threat.
