BIG SNAKE REMINDER
Creature Corner reports:
‘Sometimes I feel guilty promoting any movie premiering on the Sci-Fi Channel, especially if UFO Films made it. However, Boa Vs. Python does deserve special mention. After all, its a movie about a giant boa constrictor fighting a giant python. Excuse me. Its a giant CGI boa constrictor fighting a giant CGI python. Five bucks says the big throw down doesnt go down until the last 5 minutes. Still, how many giant fighting snakes movies are there?
So let me remind you all that Boa Vs. Python premieres on the Sci-Fi Channel this Saturday night, May 22nd, at 9 PM EST and then repeats at 1 AM EST. And if you feel the need to catch up on the history of these two titanic powerhouses of the reptile kingdom, the Sci-Fi Channel will also be running the original Boa and both of the Python films earlier in the day leading up to the premiere.
Starring Warlock IIIs Angel Boris and ‘Stargate: Atlantis’ David Hewlett, Boa vs. Python deals with a huge python imported to the US that escapes and proceeds to reek the kind of havoc that can only be stopped with the help of a giant boa constrictor specially bred to hunt down giant pythons. Seriously! Or as the Sci-Fi Channel simply describes the movie on there website: Two reptilian killing machines face off to fight to the death with humanity as the prize. Huh? Humanity as the prize? What, will one of the snakes experience the Quickening upon killing the other? Well, the movie is supposed to be intentionally campy. UFO Films has to make a good movie eventually and given the law of averages theyre overdue. Maybe this will finally be the one?’
