GOOD WORD ON SHADOWS
Seems like 2004 just might be a good year to be a vampire. Ryan over at Creature Corner has seen and gut the remake of Salem’s Lot coming to TNT next month, and now some positive word of mouth for the new ‘Dark Shadows’ series.
Over on the message board for Barnabas Undead, someone has posted a brief review of the pilot episode for the new show, which the WB owns, but is not on their Fall lineup for unknown reasons. Here’s a snippet;
‘Probably the fastest paced 40 mins of television I’ve seen. The casting is amazingly solid, despite the rushed nature of the casting process. Newman has two rich and memorable scenes as Barny (intro to the family & Josette’s room) and there are three really scary, chilling scenes. The show also had a wonderful SUSPIRIA inspired look with scenes bathed in primary colors that added to the film-quality visuals.’
Not to shabby, especially for a TV show that was hurled into production fairly quickly. Since the WB has offered up no explanation as to why they’re not going forward with the six episodes they ordered be made, who knows when we might actually get to see it, though.
