DAY OF THE DEAD REMAKE?
PLEASE NOTE: This story was later found to be nothing more than a rumour.
Note to Hollywood producers: Let?s just do it, guys. Let?s remake Hollywood history, huh? Take a dip into every studio library, yank out the classics, and put a new, fresh, star-filled spin on each and every one of them completely negating the significance each original film has in our world. Since this is a horror site, let me rifle off a few ?classics? that should get a re-imagining?are your assistants ready to start taking notes? Okay, now I?m only picking films from the late-?70s, early ?80s: ?Halloween?, ?The Howling?, ?Fright Night?, ?Martin?, ?Nightmare on Elm Street?, hell?based on today?s news (which I?m getting to), let?s do ANOTHER ?Night of the Living Dead?! May as well since Richard Rubinstein wants a remake of ?Day of the Dead?.
You heard me right, fiends. The producer of the original ?Dawn? and ?Day of the Dead?, according to Dark Horizons, has approached writer Bryan Goluboff (?The Basketball Diaries?) to pen a remake of the third installment in Romero?s beloved dead trilogy. Who knows if there?s any truth to this bit o? news, but considering Rubinstein hired James Gunn to write a remake of ?Dawn of the Dead?, it only seems natural.
