FOX 2000 to RELEASE BLACK AUTUMN
Variety reports that Fox 2000 has struck a deal with Phoenix Pictures to release BLACK AUTUMN. The movie will be directed by veteran Michael (THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH) Apted from a script originally penned by Adam Marcus (the director of JASON GOES TO HELL and the executive producer of this project) and Debra Sullivan, and rewritten under Apted’s supervision by Christine Roum. The story, which is fairly similar to Lucky McKee’s forthcoming THE WOODS (not to mention SUSPIRIA), centers on a girl who receives a scholarship to an elite private school, only to find when she arrives that there’s a dark reason for her selection. Phoenix’s Mike Medavoy and Arnold Messer and Underground Film’s Nick Osborne will produce the film, which is currently casting for a fall shoot.
