GHOST IN THE WHITE HOUSE?
Variety reports, ‘Columbia Pictures has bought the pitch ‘Ghost Story’ by scribes Jon Felson and Rusty Gorman.
Leonard Goldberg and Amanda Goldberg will produce through Mandy Films, which has a first-look deal at Sony.
Pic concerns the 11-year-old son of a newly installed president, who discovers a ghost in the White House, but no one believes him.
‘It’s told from the eyes of the child,’ Felson said. ‘It’s about what it’s like to be thrust into a new situation where you lose your privacy and meanwhile your dad has become the most busy person alive.’
The ghost element of the story is based on White House folklore.
‘If you Google ‘White House’ and ‘ghosts’ you’ll probably get about 15,000 hits,’ said Gorman.
Felson and Gorman adapted the H.G. Wells novel ‘Food of the Gods’ for Jonathan Mostow and Hal Lieberman at Universal, and ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ for Red Wagon. ‘
