THE ROCK’S FUTURE DOOMED?
Creature Corner reports:
The Rock, being embedded in the crazy worlds of both professional wrestling and being a movie star, obviously doesn’t have much time to play video games. If he did, his recent comments about possibly staring in Universal’s forever-in-the-making adaptation of the video game Doom would’ve been a little more passionate.
While talking to Empire Online about the future of another video game movie, Spy Hunter, Dwayne off-handedly mentions that if that doesn’t get off the ground soon he’ll most likely move onto a starring roll in Doom.
The game, as I’m sure you’re all aware, concerned a space station on Mars that accidentally opens a portal to hell….or something like that. The point of it was to run around and destroy as many demons as you possibly could while collecting keys…not the most exciting movie idea, if you ask me. But with some fleshing out and some cool monsters, it could make for a very fun summer movie, and the idea of The Rock in the lead doesn’t really damage my soul as much as I thought it would.
Enda McCallion is set to make his directorial debut on Doom, which is on Universal’s ever-growing horror slate.
