LOTS OF DATE CHANGES
Variety has reported a trio of new/updated release dates for major genre films. Lions Gate has shifted SAW from September 17 to the October 1 berth that, as we reported earlier this week, was vacated by Dimensions CURSED. That Wes Craven film is now set to open February 25, 2005for now, anyway. And THE WOODS, MGMs Lucky McKee chiller co-starring Bruce Campbell that forced a title change to M. Night Shyamalans THE VILLAGE, wont arrive in theaters until September 2, 2005.
No doubt the studio is hoping that Labor Day weekend slot will be as good to WOODS as it was to the two JEEPERS CREEPERS films. In addition, Cinescape reports that Warner Bros. will give HOUSE OF WAX a prime summer slot, opening Dark Castles pseudo-remake June 30, 2005.
