MICK AND THE MASTERS
Mick Garris sure is making up for lost time recently. After seemingly nothing on the horizon for the director for many years, all of a sudden his day planner is filling up rapidly.
Having just premiered Riding the Bullet at Fantasia, he’s now getting ready to move onto a film project I’ve been waiting for for years now; the adaptation of Stephen King’s Desperation. But we know that already, don’t we?
What we didn’t know was that Garris has also created and will produce a new anthology show called, simply, ‘Masters of Horror’ (no relation to the under-seen Showtime special from a few years back of the same name). The show just got the greenlight for 13 episodes, which will be directed by everyone from Guillermo del Toro to George A. Romero to John Landis, and a lot more. The details as to where the show will be are unknown right now, but Garris did say ‘The shows will be presented uncut and without commercial interruption…The series is fully funded by a major cable network, foreign interest and a DVD company everyone will know. I cant mention those names just yet.’
