SOUZA HAS SCARY PRESENCE
Variety reports that Steven E. de Souza has signed with Four Winds Pictures to write and direct the supernatural thriller THE PRESENCE. The story concerns a young man who decides to move himself and his new wife into the house where he grew uplittle knowing that the place is haunted by the ghost of his mother, who died giving birth to him. Set to roll in late 2004, the film will be budgeted somewhere above $20 million, depending on the cast. De Souza has a few fright credits including the 2000 Showtime movie POSSESSED and the ‘Carrion Death’ episode of TALES FROM THE CRYPT, but he’s better known as an action scriptwriter, with credits such as 48 HRS., COMMANDO and the first two DIE HARD films.
