ELMER BERNSTEIN DIES
The Creature Corner’s West Coast reporter, Sean, informed them and Hollywood Reporter confirmed it this morning that composer Elmer Bernstein has passed away at the age of 82.
Bernstein was the composer of almost all of John Landis’ early films, from Animal House to An American Werewolf in London, as well as movies like Ghostbusters, The Good Son, and Being John Malkovich. He was one of the most varied composers in the business, and often jumped from one genre to another seamlessly.
Elmer Bernstein was the last remaining active composer from Hollywood’s Golden Age, and was nominated for an academy award more than ten times. You can read more about the man and all his works over on his official website, located here.
