GAIMAN’S MASK SHOWS ITSELF
The Creature Corner got a scoop yesterday from one of their regulars that Neil Gaiman’s Journal site had new pictures from the upcoming film Mirrormask, which Gaiman wrote and was directed by artist Dave McKean (art for Wolves In The Walls, Coraline, and tons of Sandman covers).
The stills are pretty damn amazing, even if it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on in any of them. Gaiman does offer some description on the site, however, so check them out here to find out what they really mean.
Sony Pictures is releasing Mirrormask, though you wouldn’t know it by the amount of publicity it’s getting. This movie does not look cheap, you’d think Sony would put a little love behind by now, seeing as how it’s due for release on November 30th. The story, by the way, is about a girl who finds herself in a dream world in which two Queens are fighting each other, and she is charged with finding the Mirrormask in order to save the dying White Queen. Lots of dark stuff is going on, as you would expect from Gaiman. Check out Sony Pictures’ official site for it here.
