BALAGUERO'S FRAGILE SETS CAST
Over at the Filmax International site and its Spanish-language counterpart, the cast and other information have been announced for FRAGILE, the latest supernatural thriller from THE NAMELESS and DARKNESS? Jaume Balaguer?he movie stars ALLY McBEAL?s Calista Flockhart (who generally looks pretty fragile herself), Yasmine Murphy, Richard Roxburgh and Elena Anaya (who portrayed Dracula and one of his vampire brides in VAN HELSING) and Gemma Jones. Jordi Galcer?wrote the script with Balaguer?nd also among his past collaborators working on this feature is cinematographer Xavi Gimenez. Alain Bain? whose credits include the Spanish chillers NOS MIRAN and EL ARTE DE MORIR, serves as art director. Production began August 30, with location shooting taking place in Spain and England.
Meanwhile, Filmax/Fantastic Factory?s THE NUN has also set its ensemble, albeit one with less recognizable names: Anita Briem, Jenna Harrison, Bel?Blanco, Natalia Dicenta, Lola Marcelli, Tet?elgado and Paulina G?ez star in Luis de la Madrid?s film, being produced by Brian Yuzna and Julio Fern?ez. The site also has a plot synopsis: The story starts at an oppressive boarding school where six girls are tormented by one nun in particular. One of them becomes pregnant and is brutalized by this nun, who is found dead the following day. Fourteen years later, the young women have gone their separate ways, but start getting killed off one by one. Has the evil nun come back from the grave for revenge?
The Filmax International site also has cool, lengthy trailers for Filmax?s THE MACHINIST (whose New York/LA debut was rescheduled to October 22 by Paramount Classics) and Paco Plaza?s werewolf thriller ROMASANTA, which Lions Gate has for the U.S.
