CAST MAKES SPLASH IN SAM’S LAKE
SAMS LAKE, the U.S./Korean/Canadian horror production we first told you about here, began shooting on Monday in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Toplining the cast are Fay (THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA) Masterson, Sandrine (RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE) Holt and Stephen (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) Bishop. Written and directed by Andrew Christopher Erin (expanded from his previous short film), SAMS LAKE takes its basis from true events surrounding a massacre near Ontarios Sams Lake. The film follows Sam (Masterson), who each summer returns home to the remote lakeside cottage she grew up in. This year, ‘hip, young urbanites’ Franklin (Bishop), Melanie (Megan Fahlenbock, another supporting player from RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE) and Dominik (Salvatore Antonino) join Sam on her annual vacation. But when Sam and her childhood pal/local Jesse (WOLVES OF WALL STREETs William Gregory Lee) take an excursion to a nearby murder scene, they encountercue scary musicthe terrifying legend of Sams Lake.
Cinematographer David (SAW) Armstrong is shooting SAMS LAKE, which is produced by Seoul-based Mirovision (SEANCE, PHONE, THE PARK), Madonnas Maverick Films, Canadas Knick Knack Productions, .40 Caliber Films and One Eye Open.
