FIRST REVIEWS OF J-HORROR FILMS
KANSEN (INFECTION) and YOGEN (PREMONITION), the first two movies in producer Taka (JU-ON/THE GRUDGE) Ichises J-HORROR THEATER six-film series, opened recently in Japan, and the first English-language reviews can be found at the Japan Times website here. The reviews are pretty favorable, too, suggesting weve got a lot to look forward to when Lions Gate releases them to U.S. video next year. INFECTION, directed by Masayuki (HYPNOSIS) Ochiai, is about disturbing and disgusting events at a hospital, while Norio (RING Tsurutas PREMONITION is about a newspaper that presages death; Lions Gate is tentatively scheduled to begin issuing them Stateside next spring. Look for coverage of these and future J-HORROR entries in future issues of Fango and release updates on this site; you can see the seriess Japanese-language website here.
