CLASSIC ZOMBIE ACTORS STALK THROUGH SHADOW
Media Blasters has revealed that a pair of familiar zombie faces took part in SHADOW, the undead/martial arts/womens prison movie that recently wrapped for its Fever Dreams production division. Captain Haggerty (left), the ghoul seen on the boat in an early scene of Lucio Fulcis ZOMBIE, and Bill Hinzman, the legendary ‘cemetery zombie’ from George Romeros original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, appear together in recreations of the makeups they wore in those horror classics. ‘The teaming of Hinzman and Haggerty in a new zombie film will hopefully be seen as some kind of historic cinematic event by the most die-hard of zombie fans,’ says SHADOW producer Carl Morano. Media Blasters Shriek Show division recently released a special edition of Fulcis film (as ZOMBI 2, with a Haggerty interview) and Hinzmans directorial venture FLESH EATER to DVD.
Also in the SHADOW cast, supporting stars Tony Todd and Carla Greene, are Ruby LaRocca and Sergio Alarcon from Media Blasters debut production FLESH FOR THE BEAST, along with Nina Hodoruk, Andrea Langi, Tatiana Butler, Cat Miller, Erin Brown, Allison Farmer, Debbie Pingitore, Anna Curtis and Michael Quinlan. Hong Kong veterans Derek Wan and Tony Leung Siu-Hung directed and choreographed the action respectively, with a script by Fangos Michael Gingold (based on an original screenplay by BEAST cinematographer Richard Siegel). Allan (WRONG TURN) Cooke and G&S Effects Brian Spears and Peter Gerner (also from BEAST) created the makeup FX.
