MORE EXORCIST ON THE WAY?
MovieHole reports:
Look dead horse! Better beat it. If the Dead Horse is ‘The Exorcist’ series, then the thrashers are those that can’t tell when there’s no juice to be squeezed from the plum anymore.
A bit in this month’s Empire mag, Aussie edition, suggests James G.Robinson, CEO and Chariman of Morgan Creek, could be heading back into the devils den again (for a fight he just won’t win) for an ‘Exorcist’ Television series.
Seems ‘Exorcist : The Beginning’ wasn’t enough of a kick in the pearly whites for the studio, now they’re actually considering doing a TV series based on the film quadrilogy.
And with that…he fell from his chair.
You never know though, ‘Poltergiest III’ tanked at the box office, and that ended up resulting in a reasonably popular TV Series. And let’s not forget how Joss Whedon turned ‘Buffy’ from blunder into biggie.
Meantime, Robinson’s producing ‘Exorcist : The Beginning’ Director (one of three) Renny Harlin’s ‘The Northmen’, a pic about a couple of Viking Brothers.
Paul Schrader has yet to get a call asking him to direct the pilot for the aforesaid ‘Exorcist’ TV series.
