SUICIDE SHARK IN BLUE DEMON
We really thought that KOMODO VS. KING COBRA was the most out-there concept possible for a nature-amok film, but then along came Dread Central to report on a flick that gives it a run for its money. The title is BLUE DEMON (no relation to Santos old co-star), and the plot concernswell, let producer/distributor Regent Entertainment tell it:
‘Drs. Nathan and Marla Collins are shark experts working on a top-secret government project: To protect our shorelines by creating controlled shark patrols. When their project is sabotaged, the mutant great white sharks are released into American waterways. Out among the general population the smartest of the sharks, Red Dog, carries a neutron bomb on a mission to blow up the Golden Gate Bridge.’
The director is Dan Grodnik, making his debut at the helm after a long career as a producer that started out with the likes of 1980s TERROR TRAIN and WITHOUT WARNING and has stretched through such recent video/cable sci-fi/horror flicks as SEA GHOST, DEEP EVIL, BLOOD ANGELS (a.k.a. THRALLS) and GLASS TRAP. The cast includes Dedee Pfeiffer (Michelles little sister, from VAMP), Randall Batinkoff (best known for getting Molly Ringwald pregnant in FOR KEEPS), Danny Woodburn (the little person from SEINFELD) and Jeff Fahey (nuff said). Were assuming BLUE DEMON will be scheduled for a Sci Fi Channel premiere any day now, but in the meantime you can access trailers for this and several other Regent monster flicks at the companys ‘Creature Features’ page here.
