X-FILES ARE RE-OPENING?
They say it’s happening but that’s about all they’re saying. We haven’t had a dollop of info about this ‘X-Files’ movie sequel.
Back in September, Moviehole’s Adam Weeks reported that there was a script, the cast were signed and that the shoot date was going to be sometime before Santa drops down the chimney.
Today, Movieweb – sourcing SFX Magazine ran a statement from creator Chris Carter on where ‘The X Files’ sequel currently stands, and seems while it is coming, it won’t be in front of cameras by Christmas as originally projected.
‘We are in negotiations right now. And because it’s a sequel, there are peculiar and specific kinds of negotiations that are holding us up. I think that there’s an appetite for it, but I think that it’s got to be good. People won’t just go and see anything. Whatever happens, I’m going to do something good that people will want to go and see regardless.’
And what’s the story going to be? ‘Not a mythology one, for sure!’
Initially, the second ‘X-Files’ movie was supposed to happen the summer following the last season of the show.
While in ‘X-Files’ mode, might I point you to Duchovny.net which has some set-pics up from David Duchovny’s next pic ‘Trust the Man’ and The Digital Bits which is reporting that the spin-off ‘The Lone Gunmen’ will be on DVD next year.
