SILVER NITRATE GRABS THE GHOULS
The Silver Nitrate company has revealed to Fango that it has picked up Chad Ferrins horror-fest fave THE GHOULS, with a tentative DVD debut date of March 8. Originally announced as a Heretic Films release, THE GHOULS is about a freelance videographer (Timothy Muskatell) who specializes in capturing the seamier side of Los Angeles, and uncovers a gang of flesheaters who dwell in the citys darkest corners. Busy genre actress Tiffany Shepis, Troma vets Trent Haaga, James Gunn and Stephen Blackehart and DAY OF THE DEADs Joseph Pilato also appear. Extras for the disc have yet to be confirmed; you can read a story on the film in Fango #241, on sale February 15, and check out its official website here.
In addition, Silver Nitrate today releases the independent horror film CROSSING ACHERON under the new title EVIL CITY. Written and directed by Tom Lewis, the movie is about two teams of reporters who venture to the remote mountain town of Acheron, whose residents all died within the same month and which doesnt appear on any map. Once they arrive, they discover that the village has become a literal hell on Earth. You can see a trailer and find out more at the films official website. The company also has Corbin (A CRACK IN THE FLOOR) Timbrooks TOWER OF BLOOD, about partying teens slaughtered in a hi-rise by a maniac, hitting DVD January 11. While Silver Nitrate doesnt currently have an on-line sales site, its DVDs can be found at major chains including Blockbuster and Hollywood Video.
