KATE HUDSON’S VERTIGO
There’s more recycling going on in Hollywood at the moment than my bin’s seen all year.
Next retool out of the dry-idea-well is ‘Vertigo’, which Kate Hudson is planning to Xerox, according to Dark Horizons.
Goldie’s girl has apparently snapped up the rights to the Alfred Hitchcock classic, which tells od a San Francisco detective and his psychological troubles with fear of heights and obsession over a woman. Assumingly, Hudson will plonk herself in the role of ‘the woman’ (Madeleine Elster/Judy Barton), originally played by Kim Novak in the 1958 original.
Those with good recollection technique will recall Brian De Palma did a rework of the film in in 1976 as ‘Obsession’ with Cliff Robertson and Genevieve Bujold.
Whilst we’re talking Hudson, the word is she’s about to star in Gurinder Chadha’s big-screen rework of ‘I Dream of Jeannie’. She’s supposedly crossing the I’s and dotting the T’s on that one as we speak.
