RAI Likes Hitchcock
Though not much has been said about Dario Argentos latest, Do You Like Hitchcock? in recent weeks, today the trades are reporting that Italian broadcaster RAI have it at the top of their sales list, and that the success of the TV movie may spurn more growth for the company.
The flick, which was made for Italian television, has sold to numerous territories including France, Germany, and Sweden, but most importantly a company called Marvista has picked it up for North American distribution. A quick glance at their site will show you theyre relatively new to this business, so who knows what theyre going to actually do with the movie.
The film is about a student who is convinced the murder of a neighbors mom was influenced by Hitchcocks films, and attempts to solve the crime himself. Argento apparently throws in all sorts of nods to famous Hitchcockian moments, while still managing to create a more or less original story. Well have more details when theyre ready!
