Killers Take On Murder Trilogy Flick
Dread C entral have picked a news nuggest regarding the Las Vegas band The Killers and a new project they’re embarking on. While enjoying their current success and touring all around the country, The Killers are also producing a 25-minute film in the vein of Michael Jackson’s Thriller before they return to the studio for their sophomore album.
Described as a ‘murder trilogy,’ the film will feature the songs Jenny Was a Friend of Mine and Midnight Show, but don’t expect the film to be just a lengthy music video. ‘We want to get established actors, not like some hot actor right now, and we want to make it as real and as serious as possible,’ drummer Ronnie Vannucci told Billboard. ‘We don’t plan on being in the movie. It’s going to be something that’s by the Killers and our idea, but it’s not going to be like, ‘Look at me.’ We want to try and make it more about the art than the exposure.’
One of the band’s unreleased songs Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf will also be featured in the film. They hope to have the flick in the can by the end of the year.
