Crossbones & More Coming from Lions Gate
Lions Gate Home Entertainment just keeps on adding titles to its heavy 2005 genre slate. The latest films to join the lineup include CROSSBONES, coming August 30, in which contestants in a reality show run afoul of a bloodthirsty resurrected pirate. Directed by Daniel Zirilli, the movie may unfortunately be best known as the production on which cinematographer Neal (BLAIR WITCH) Fredericks lost his life in a plane accident. The DVD will present the movie in fullscreen, with 5.1 and 2.0 Dolby Digital soundtracks, plus a filmmakers commentary, the Rated ARRRRR: The Making of CROSSBONES featurette and a photo gallery. Retail price will be $26.98.
Also on the fall slate (at last!) is BLOODY MALLORY, Julien Magnats French chronicle of a sexy heroine battling supernatural evil, arriving September 13. And a week later, the Gate releases JACK OLANTERN, about Midwestern college students with the proverbial deadly secret who begin dying in freak accidents, directed by Ron McLellen. No word yet on specs for these two DVDs, but well keep you posted.
