The Bonesetter Returns
Canadian moviemaker Brett Kelly of Dudez Productions has announced that hes working on a sequel to his fright feature THE BONESETTER titled, appropriately enough, THE BONESETTER RETURNS. Scheduled for completion this summer, the movie continues the saga of the evil child-killer from 100 years ago who comes back to continue his crimes in a small town. Returning actors Kelly, Mark Courneyea, Anne-Marie Frigon, Tara Mackenzie, Thea Nikolic and Jody Haucke (in the title role) are joined in the follow-up by busy genre actress Debbie Rochon. The character will also be returning soon in a comic book titled THE BONESETTER: EPIPHANY, a 19th century-set story written by Haucke with artwork by Dave Preatorius and a first-issue cover by Nick (ARMY OF DARKNESS) Bradshaw. Kelly is currently accepting donations toward the comics printing, with a contribution of $25 or more earning a signed copy upon its publication.
The original BONESETTER is available on both a special-edition DVD from Tempe Video and as part of the DEAD & ROTTING budget four-movie disc pack from Brentwood. Kellys next movie will be a zombie comedy called MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND; you can chat with him about all these projects at the upcoming East Coast FANGORIA Weekend of Horrors convention, taking place September 24-25 at the Meadowlands Crowne Plaza Hotel (2 Harmon Plaza, Secaucus, New Jersey), where Kelly will have a table.
