Night Watch to Dawn Later This Year
Just two weeks before the movies scheduled U.S. release, Fango has learned that Fox Searchlight has shifted NIGHT WATCH out of its July 29 release slot and rescheduled it for sometime in the fourth quarter of 2005. No official explanation has been given for the switch, but the fall/winter berth will mean less competition from the summer FX behemoths, which may have contributed to the lower-than-hoped-for grosses for LAND OF THE DEAD and DARK WATER. Meanwhile, DAY WATCH, the second in the Russian fantasy/horror trilogy directed by Timur Bekmambetov, is currently in postproduction, and the closing chapter, DUSK WATCH, will roll soon (and be at least partially in English). You can read all about NIGHT WATCH in Fango #245, now on sale, and see the official website here.
