TNT’s upcoming Nightmares and Dreamscapes is preparing to roll cameras at Docklands Studios in Melbourne, Australia. The anthology will draw its material from the short stories featured in King’s book and adapt them into eight one hour films.
Scribe Mick Garris informed Dread Central that he’ll be adapting the zombie tale Home Delivery, for sure. Today, Moviehole gleaned some info from Australia’s Sunday Herald Sun that tells us King’s You Know They Got a Hell of a Band may be another one on the show’s roster. According to the site, actor Bert LaBonte is a contender to play musician Otis Redding.
Redding died in ’67.
String all of the pieces together and you just have to assume Band is being adapted. And very well it should be, it’s a quirky King concoction. If you’re not familiar with the short story, Band tells of a young couple who pull into a town where the locals strangely resemble deceased movie stars and singers.
LaBonte also co-starred in Evil Never Dies alongside Katherine Heigl.
