Contrary to news reports over the last couple of days saying that Infected had been delayed until spring 2006, Majesco confirmed that the PSP zombie game will be shipping this November.
Reports over the last few days had been saying the game would be delayed “to provide additional development time”, but someone somewhere obviously realised how weird it would have been playing a winter themed zombie shooter (complete with zombified Santa Claus) in the Spring.
Hopefully this won’t mean that the game turns out to be on the rushed side, but it’d be unfair to give Majesco and Planet Moon Productions anything but the benefit of the doubt on this.
For anyone who hasn’t been following the title, Infected is an action-heavy game from the people that made Armed and Dangerous. You’ll be thrown into a zombie infested New York (though the game prefers to call them “Infected”) for the single player, but it’s really the multiplayer that sounds the most interesting. Beat someone else, and you’ll “infect” their PSP. Your character will then be running around their copy of the game. If they then beat someone else, not only will their character infect that persons game, but yours will too. Online score boards are going to track who has infected the most number of PSPs around the world.
