Shot all the way back in 2003, Robert Hiltzik's Return to Sleepaway Camp has vanished off the face of the planet- until now. Star Vincent Pastore was asked about the film and had some interesting things to say starting with how bloody the film will be, but what we really want to know is when will we see the freakin' flick, and what's the delay? Read on for the skinny. Jonathan Tiersten, Paul DeAngelo, Isaac Hayes, Adam Wylie, Mary Elizabeth King, Paul Iacono, CKY and Felissa Rose also star...
Remember the cheesy "Sleepaway Camp" horror movies from the '80s that featured slasher killers, promiscuous camp counselors and at least one death by a curling iron?
Soon a new group of dumb teenagers will take up residence at the cursed Camp Arawak, in a movie the star, Vincent Pastore, gleefully predicted will be plenty bloody. "We did number five, and I did it with Issac Hayes and a bunch of great guys from New York," the "Sopranos" actor said about "Return to Sleepaway Camp."
Rumors have circulated about the film's release delays, but Pastore assured "Sleepaway" fans that it will arrive soon enough, and that it has simply been held back for additional special effects. "They told me the reason why it's not released yet is because of the digital stuff they're doing to it. I think they're putting a lot into it." Pastore, always the joker, then added that the film has the potential to become an unexpected hit: "It may be a sleeper," he laughed.
