MTV reports:
Remember the cheesy “Sleepaway Camp” horror movies from the ’80s that featured slasher killers, promiscuous camp counselors and at least one death by a curling iron?
Soon a new group of dumb teenagers will take up residence at the cursed Camp Arawak, in a movie the star, Vincent Pastore, gleefully predicted will be plenty bloody. “We did number five, and I did it with Issac Hayes and a bunch of great guys from New York,” the “Sopranos” actor said about “Return to Sleepaway Camp.”
Rumors have circulated about the film’s release delays, but Pastore assured “Sleepaway” fans that it will arrive soon enough, and that it has simply been held back for additional special effects. “They told me the reason why it’s not released yet is because of the digital stuff they’re doing to it. I think they’re putting a lot into it.” Pastore, always the joker, then added that the film has the potential to become an unexpected hit: “It may be a sleeper,” he laughed.
