Perseverance Records has announced a March release for Philip Lambro's score for the 1973 horror film CRYPT OF THE LIVING DEAD (aka YOUNG HANNAH: QUEEN OF THE VAMPIRES). They are also planning a CD of Lambro's score to the heist film MURPH THE SURF, aka Live a Little, Steal a Lot (Murph the Surf was previously released on LP). Lambro is best known in the film music world as the composer of the original, rejected score for CHINATOWN.
"The scariest score I have ever heard", says album producer Robin Esterhammer, "I actually had to turn the light on."
Perseverance has also announced a four project deal with Sony, which will begin in March with the first commercial release of Craig Safan's score for 1985's REMO WILLIAMS: THE ADVENTURE BEGINS.
And, scheduled for February 2006, is a new album by DEADLY SPAWN composer Michael Perilstein, titled The Least Worst of Michael Perilstein. The compilation album will contain music from such films as MUHAMMAD ALI: A TWILIGHT PORTRAIT, WHERE EVIL LIVES, HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS, different DEADLY SPAWN recordings than the Perseverance Records release, the unreleased MASTER RACE FROM MARS, as well as music from the concept albums Godzilla Vs Your Mother and Elephants Gliding on Ice, and some (mostly) previously unreleased tracks specifically compiled for this album.
