News has cropped up over on Sid Haig’s official site that the Once and Future Spaulding has just wrapped up work on a new movie called The Brotherhood of Blood in which he plays, for the first time ever, a vampire!
“It was very interesting playing my very first vampire, who, basically, is king of the vampires and is over 1000 years old,” Haig said in a press release. “The production was run very smoothly. I think it’s a very good script and the writers/directors were very organized and, I felt, gave me what I needed to do my job. I am sure that you, the viewing audience, are really going to enjoy this film!”
Written by Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer, the same team behind the upcoming sequel House of the Dead 2: Dead Aim in which Haig plays a professor, The Brotherhood of the Blood is about a vampire huntress whose clan is wiped out by something more evil than the bloodsuckers; a demon called Vlad Kossei. Even the vamps are afraid of him, but he’s not able to regain his full power until he kills his brother. The huntress sets out to stop him before it’s too late.
Sounds like it could be fun if done right, and it’s always cool to see Haig getting work again. Brotherhood of Blood will also re-team him with fellow Devil’s Rejects star Ken Foree, though his role is not known right now.
