Variety reports that URBAN LEGEND and VALENTINE director Jamie Blanks will next helm STORM WARNING, a $3.15-million horror film set to roll soon in Australia. The story centers on a couple whose boat outing goes awry when their engine fails and they wind up drifting into a mangrove swamp, where they presumably face bad weather and worse. Aussie genre veteran Everett (PATRICK, RAZORBACK) De Roche scripted, and Gary Hamilton and Pete Ford are producing; international sales outfit Arclight picked up the movie for its Darclight genre label, which has already had tremendous success with Greg McLean’s Outback shocker WOLF CREEK.
