Buena Vista passed on to Fango the first photo from STAY ALIVE, the youth-centric chiller it releases March 24 under the Hollywood Pictures banner. Directed by William Brent Bell from a script he wrote with Matthew Peterman, STAY ALIVE is about a group of teens (led by, Sophia Bush, Frankie Muniz, Jon Foster and Samaire Armstrong) who discover that the death of a friend may have something to do with the titular 3-D video game, which centers on the 17th-century “Blood Countess” (presumably Elisabeth Bathory). Unable to resist playing STAY ALIVE themselves, they start getting killed off in the manner by which they die in the game, and the survivors struggle to stop the Countess’ real-world rampage. Based on Patrick Süskind’s best-selling novel and directed by RUN LOLA RUN’s Tom Tykwer, the film stars Ben Whishaw as Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, a perfume maker who terrorizes 18th-century France as he murders young women in an attempt to capture their scent. Alan Rickman, Dustin Hoffman and Rachel (AN AMERICAN HAUNTING) Hurd-Wood co-star.
