It’s taken two decades, but the adventures of everyone’s favorite hideously deformed monster hero from Troma are finally coming in book form, for those too lazy to just see the movie. THE TOXIC AVENGER, coming from Thunder’s Mouth Press June 12, is not just a novelization of the worldwide cult hit but, as Toxie creator Lloyd Kaufman explains in his preface, is the literary equivalent of “the big-budget Toxie remake no studio would ever greenlight in a million, billion years.” Packed with over-the-top mayhem and gross-outs, lesbian shenanigans and “guest narrators” like J.D. Salinger and Oliver Stone, the TOXIC AVENGER novel was written by Adam Jahnke (who previously collaborated with Kaufman on MAKE YOUR OWN DAMN MOVIE!), though Kaufman claims top credit on the cover anyway. Illustrated with photos from the film, the trade paperback will cost you $13.95. Look for more on the TOXIC AVENGER novel in Fango #254, on sale May 23.
