One thing about being a horror fan is that we are taken advantage of – a lot. For example look at all of the ‘Evil Dead’ DVD releases, along with the crappy double dips like the upcoming ‘Event Horizon SE.’ We take a beating and even Anchor Bay has joined in on the fun by releasing all of ShowTime’s Masters of Horror: Season 1 (all 13 reviews here) individually before the planned box set. Well today we’ve got some good news and some bad news. The good news, Anchor Bay has decided to drop the doubles releases of Mick Garris’ ‘Masters of Horror: Season 1’ (all 13 reviews here), the bad news is that this is only an official UK announcement thus far. Read on for official word from Anchor Bay UK, who will now release a ‘Masters of Horror’ box set sometime this Autumn…
Anchor Bay UK writes:
“We’ve analysed fan feedback over the last month on and off the forums and have decided on a different release strategy for the MoH Franchise. We will be commencing work on a box set for the entire series which will come out sometime in the Autumn, full details to be announced.
As a result of this, the doubles will no longer be released as previously planned. We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause but we feel it is the best way forward for the series and the best way to give you, the fans, the best possible package and value for money. Full details of the box set will be revealed once they are finalized.”
