Spirit Horse Productions has announced that it is launching the new horror-film banner Fang Films, with the aim to produce six fright features on $1-3-million budgets. The company has spent two years searching for the right projects, and according to director of development Paige Neumann, “We’ve read hundreds upon hundreds of scripts, and have identified a core of writers who fit the storylines we have been looking for, and they have delivered strong horror scripts.” The first two movies are ready to roll this summer; Ric Johnson will direct GHOST IN THE CAMERA from his screenplay this summer in Florida, in association with his Ghost Films company and Quantum Media.
Spirit Horse is teaming with Alianza Films on the second feature, THE BUTCHERING GHOST, to be helmed by Shari Hamrick and produced by Sean Fernald from a script by Abieth Winter. Hamrick has previously served as an associate producer on films like FLESH AND BONE and THE DEVIL’S OWN. No story details have been made available on either GHOST movie yet, but we’ll keep you updated.
