Yesterday morning B-D got an e-mail from a scooper named ‘Daniel Larusso’ who scored some very interesting scoopage from star Ewan Bremner about 20th Century Fox’s Alien vs Predator 2, which is aiming at a August 10th, 2007 release. Although we cannot confirm the validity of the coming news, it does fit the scenario of what’s been going on with the franchises over the past decade. Read on for the skinny on the plot, and Weaver’s involvement in the film (we just want Alien 5 for gods sake)…
“I just got an e-mail from a scooper who’d like to call himself ‘Daniel Larusso’ who had some really sweet tid-bits on 20th Century Fox’s next Alien vs Predator film:
Just did three days on “Hallam Foe” with Jamie Bell and Ewan Bremner, it’s a drama about a kid that follows in his father’s voyeuristic shoes. Could turn OK.
Anyway, Bremner is the nicest guy. He actually TALKS to the frickin’ extras!
You may remember he was in ‘Alien Vs. Predator,’ he played ‘Miller’. I was asking him about the movie, and he said that Fox is doing another one next year. He said that NONE of the original cast, including Lance Henriksen, will be involved in the film. It will be set “in a different time… again.”
He has heard that the studio really wants to get Sigourney Weaver to do one. Apparently she was going to do a new “Alien” movie, with James Cameron/Ridley Scott, before AvP, but it didn’t come off…. so they did AvP instead.
It’d be great to see Weaver in Alien vs Predator 2 as Ripley, but I’m pretty sure she “hated” the idea of the film initially.
Either way… that’s what Bremner knows.”
