Fango has learned that—surprise!—Dimension Films has bumped the release of its PULSE remake yet again, and Picturehouse has moved Guillermo del Toro’s PAN’S LABYRINTH further down the schedule as well.
Last announced for July 14, PULSE is now due in theaters September 8 (where it will take on Screen Gems and Renny Harlin’s campus chiller THE COVENANT), while the launch of the PAN’S platform release got pushed from September 29 all the way to December 29, perhaps to keep the already-acclaimed film fresh in Oscar voters’ minds when the ballots go out. A week later on January 5, 2007, Lionsgate will open Eli Roth’s HOSTEL 2, keeping to the one-year-later sequel-release strategy that paid off so well for SAW II.
