Max Brooks likes his zombies, and for good reason. His first book, The Zombie Survival Guide, sold like the proverbial hotcakes and made legions of undead fans smile from ear to ear with its practical, real-world advice on how to survive a zombie apocalypse.
His next, World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, was the source of a massive bidding war between Paramount and Warner Bros. with Paramount winning out in the end. The film version of World War Z is now set for production through Brad Pitt’s Plan B and distribution via the studio according to Variety. Needless to say, zombies have been good to Max so far.
The story is just what the title proclaims: the history of a war fought between normal humans and those who are given a virus that allows them to reanimate after death to keep on fighting. It sure sounds like it’s going to be a damn big film, let’s just hope that Paramount is up to doing it justice. World War Z is due out from Crown on September 12th; and keep your eyes here for more on the film as we learn it!
