Fango got the scoop that CLIVE BARKER’S THE PLAGUE, the first production from the horror mogul’s Midnight Picture Show company, will make its U.S. debut as a DVD release from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, which gave us a look at the cover art. Directed by Hal Masonberg from a script he wrote with Teal Minton, the movie is about a mysterious illness that puts the world’s children into a simultaneous 10-year coma. When they all awaken as teenagers, they have developed supernatural powers—and an urge to murder adults. James (DAWSON’S CREEK) Van Der Beek stars as a man recently released from jail who confronts the young generation of killers. Retail price for the DVD will be $24.96; specs haven’t been announced yet, but we’ll keep you updated. See Fango #256 (on sale August 22) for the scoop on THE PLAGUE’s surprise theatrical bypass.
