The Zone Horror FrightFest has become the UK’s biggest genre film festival. Launched by the genre television channel Zone Horror, it has its own DVD label in partnership with Revolver Films, has toured nationwide and has helped launch the careers of filmmakers such as Eli Roth, Christopher (CREEP) Smith and Simon (MUTANT CHRONICLES) Hunter. Now in its seventh year, the fest will return to the Odeon West End from Friday, August 25 through Monday, August 28.
Over 20 new films, including features and shorts, will be shown, accompanied by Q&A sessions, sneak previews, special guests, signings and competitions with prizes. Among the special events scheduled are a preview screening of Christopher Smith’s SEVERANCE on Thursday, Aug. 24, a Hammer Horror triple screening (THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES, COUNTESS DRACULA and TWINS OF EVIL) on Friday the 25th and showings of the top 10 finalists from CUT!, Zone Horror’s new short-film competition.
