Melissa George, recently seen in the “Amityville Horror” remake, is about to get reacquainted with corn syrup and wind machines.
According to Melissageorge.co.uk, the former Aussie soap star will join Josh Hartnett for “30 Days of Night”, based on the graphic novel by Steve Niles, about a sheriff and his wife who go up against a troupe of vampires who flock to a small town in Alaska to feed.
George will play Stella Olemaun, the deputy sheriff and wife of the main character.
Stuart Beattie and Brian Nelson penned the film adaptation, which tells of a town in Alaska where the sun does not appear for more than 30 days during the middle of winter. During this time, an evil force emerges from the darkness and strikes terror to the dark town. The local sheriffs, a husband and-wife team, are forced to choose between saving themselves and helping the town survive until daylight returns.
The Aussie actress has quite the busy year ahead of her – she’s just wrapped Tom Shankland’s “Waz” with Selma Blair, and is currently filming the thriller “Nine Miles Down” with Adrian Paul.
